| Koester American announces the addition of an exciting new product line called ORS, (Oil Removal System), cutting edge technology to add to the VAP family of coatings. This is a proven concrete oil and organic contamination removal and coating system that has been used very successfully in Germany for the last decade. ORS is a revolutionary coatings system in the Concrete Rehabilitation industry. This system will allow a concrete slab to be deep cleaned and re-coated in a consistent and professional manner with a full 10- year manufacturer's warranty. The term "system" is used frequently to describe the ORS because it is just that, a complete system. It is not just a degreasing process nor a just another oil containing coating, but an engineered system designed for maximum deep substrate oil cleaning and an epoxy topping that will provide a lasting barrier against any further oil migration. Before ORS the only way to ensure that a coating would not fail on a previously oil contaminated slab was to replace the slab. There are many success stories in the German ORS history book. In one instance this system was used in an aircraft production facility to restore concrete that was subjected to more than 70 years of constant oil exposure and contamination. The ORS system was used to deep clean the substrate; two applications of the cleaning foam were applied and in some case more. The top coating was then applied to the damp concrete (this coating is a tough two-component epoxy that resists all oil incursion and migration to and from the slab), then seeded with special sand. The concrete was cleaned to the extent that the coating system has now been down and performing for the past 10 years without failure. The makeup of this system enables the applicator to maintain rigid scheduling during the entire oil removal and coating process under normal circumstances. This system has been used successfully to remove oils, hydraulic fluids, animal fats, vegetable oils and greases in a variety of locations. This system has been applied in manufacturing plants, railway repair facilities, automobile repair garages, restaurants, large scale cooking facilities, meat processing and rendering plants, and a host of other sites that have organic contamination. |
