| PRINTABLE VERSION |
Description:
KOESTER AMERICAN VAP I® LEVEL-PRO is a high strength, single
component, fast curing underlayment that does not shrink and provides
a smooth, level surface ready to receive flooring systems. It has to be
mixed with water only and contains organic binders that provide this
underlayment with its flowable characteristics and level capabilities
amongst other beneficial properties.
LEVEL-PRO can be applied up to 1 1/2” thick in one layer without
extension with aggregate and is fit to receive foot traffic in 3-4 hours and
floor coverage in 16 hours. LEVEL-PRO’S primary function is to level
uneven concrete surfaces on interior slabs to provide an acceptable
finish for flooring systems.

KOESTER AMERICAN VAP 1® LEVEL-PRO is designed for interior use in leveling uneven rough concrete, camper problems, plywood floors and smoothing frozen or rained or unfinished slabs. In restoration projects use LEVEL-PRO over ceramic tile, terrazzo and wood to provide a smooth even finish.

Surface Preparation:
Surfaces to receive VAP I® LEVEL-PRO have to be sound, clean and absorptive, free of curing agents, oil, grease, paint, loose particles or any other contaminant that could weaken the bond. Always use VAP I®
LEVEL-PRO PRIMERS prior to application of LEVEL-PRO and VAP I®
LEVEL-PRO FINISH. Use VAP I® LEVEL-PRO PRIMER E for smooth
non-absorbent surfaces like KOESTER VAP I® SYSTEMS and VAP I®
LEVEL-PRO PRIMER A for absorbent surfaces such as concrete. DO NOT ACID ETCH! Joints must be reflected through the applied underlayment.
Any weak concrete surfaces must be prepared by mechanical means to obtain a sound surface. DO NOT CLEAN SUBSTRATE WITH CHEMICALS. DO NOT APPLY OVER ADHESIVE RESIDUE.
|
| |
Mixing:
Mix two bags of VAP I® LEVEL-PRO at a time. For EACH bag add 6.5 qts. (6.15 liters) clean potable water into a clean mixing drum.
Then, add the LEVEL-PRO bags, while mixing at full speed with a paddle mixer attached to a heavy duty 1/2" drill (mm.650 rpm). Mix completely for a minimum of 2-3 minutes until lump free, adding no additional water.
VAP I® LEVEL-PRO will level itself for 20 minutes at 70ºF no troweling needed. Pour the blended LEVEL-PRO on the floor and disperse with the LEVEL-PRO spreader, followed by smoothing the material with the LEVEL-PRO smoother. Cleated shoes must be worn to avoid leaving marks. Please call Koester American at (757) 425-1206 for VAP I® Self-Leveling tool kit details.
It is recommended that two (2) VAP I® LEVEL-PRO mixing drums be used simultaneously, mixing in one while pouring the other. This way there is no job slow down while still mixing for the required 2-3 minutes. After use, clean all mixing equipment thoroughly to avoid getting hardened product into subsequent batches.
LEVEL-PRO can also be pumped, affording high productivity and continuous smooth placement.
